Looking for that unique house warming gift? Or maybe a small piece of art to complete an art wall? This small Japanese woodworking panel is called kumiko. It is made with small sticks of wood that have had the ends cut at precise angles. When finished, the entire panel is held together by friction and tight fits. This panel has been glued so you don’t receive a puzzle upon delivery.
 
The frame is black walnut, and the kumiko strips are pine. None of the wood has been stained or dyed. The walnut has been finished with danish oil to bring out the grains and color of the wood. There is a hanging bracket already installed on the back for easy placement.
